To Everything
There is a season
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven
Been listening to good ol' folk tunes recently, and something about "Turn! Turn! Turn!" made me stop for awhile. Other than, of course, the way Benji heartily joined in at the chorus. Any song that pleases my boy pleases me, unless it gets played on loop till the wee hours of the morning!!!
It's no wonder that the song's meaningful, some of its lyrics were taken directly from the Biblical book of Ecclesiastes, and people obviously raved about it, because it quickly became The Byrds' second US #1 single.
Well, I'll let your ears do the judging ;)
The Byrds, with "Turn! Turn! Turn!", written by folk legend Pete Seeger.
Speaking of seasons, here's a beautiful tune, no less meaningful, from my Mellygal's favourite musical - treat those ears to the cast of RENT with "Seasons of Love".
525,600 minutes - how do you measure,
measure a year?
In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee.
In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife.
In 525,600 minutes - how do you measure a year in the life?
How about love? Measure in love. Seasons of love.
'Twas the Chinese New Year recently, a time for the obligatory visitations, but also a great chance to spend a few days basking in the immediate presence of your loving family - and boy am I glad for the wonderful (albeit sometimes a little kooky) little mites that fill my home with chatter and love.
Hip hip hooray (a little belatedly) to new beginnings!
Hey, there are no rules to celebrations! It's a party at our place every day!
So grab your virtual celebratory martini, let's clink our glasses, sit back, and enjoy the ride!
C'est la vie!

You would have been thirteen today, but you'll always be in my heart
Come stop your crying
It will be all right
Just take my hand Hold it tight
For one so small,
you seem so strong
My arms will hold you,
keep you safe and warm
This bond between us
Can't be broken
I will be here
Don't you cry
You'll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You'll be here in my heart, always
When destiny calls you
You must be strong
I may not be with you
But you've got to hold on
They'll see in time
I know
We'll show them together
For all sad words of tongue and pen, The saddest are these, 'It might have been'.
